Tenancy Audits

Colchester Borough Homes is carrying out tenancy audits. We will be visiting people and completing a short questionnaire and carrying out a brief inspection of the property.

Why are we doing this?

  • To check that the legal tenant is living at the property and that it is not being sublet
  • To update information about who is living in the property which will help with future planning of services
  • To provide information on the services we provide
  • To offer support and advice on claiming benefits & referrals to other support agencies

To successfully carryout the audit we are asking for your help and co-operation. We will also ask you to provide two forms of identification: one that includes a photo of you and one that proves you live in the property such as a utility bill.

Remember

We will be calling and that all our staff will be carrying identification. Always ask to see this and never let anyone in who cannot prove who they are.

Subletting deprives genuine applicants on the council's waiting list from a home and means everyone has to wait longer to be re-housed. If you have any information about improper or illegal activity taking place near where you live – lets us know in confidence right away.
