Good Neighbours 2010

We held our Good Neighbours event at the Mayor’s Parlour at the Town Hall on 31 March. The nominees were given flowers and a certificate by the Mayor to recognise the fact they go the extra mile for other residents.

The Nominees

Rob James

Rob was nominated for all his efforts during the snow. He lives at Oatfield Close – an area with a number of older residents – keeping the paths gritted and clear.

Gordon Seymour

Gordon is always willing to help his neighbours, one of whom phoned us to say “We call him Gordon the Warden. He is the best neighbour anyone could wish for.”

Alex Smith

Alex – who lives at Heathfields Sheltered Scheme – was nominated because he organises lots of social activities for the residents including theatre trips and music afternoons.

Daphne Everitt

Daphne, who is 81, helps other residents at the Sheltered Scheme where she lives. She takes down the rubbish for other tenants, fetches their shopping, and looks out for fellow residents. She also helps to organise social events.

Dagmar Foster

Dagmar was nominated for her efforts collecting for the St Helena Hospice lottery.

Bill Nairn

Bill was nominated because he is always willing and able to help others in the Old Heath area. He attends a number of local groups and likes being part of a close community.

Street Wardens Sam Lancaster and Brendan Gibbs

Sam and Brendon always go above and beyond their roles as Street Wardens and our communities are extremely lucky to have such a caring pair looking out for our vulnerable residents.

Proud to serve our customers and communities
