How to Pay
We offer a wide range of payment options. The choice is yours:
Pay by direct debit from your bank account. You can download a form and send it to us. Pay by cash, cheque, debit or credit card at the Handitill at Greenstead Local Housing Office. Payments may take up to one week before appearing on your rent account. Pay by debit or credit card over the phone on 01206 282500. You will need your eight digit account reference number. Pay by Rent Direct (housing benefit) by telephoning 01206 282300. Pay on-line via Colchester Borough Council's website (click on link and choose Housing Rent and Service Charges). Pay your rent at your Bank when you are paying your other bills. You can pay over the counter at the bank by either using their forms or by using the payment slips we provide which let you pay by cash even if you do not have a bank account. For details please telephone 01206 282322. Pay using sms texts from your mobile phone, make one off payments on your rent. More information can be found here. Pay at any post office - this service is free but you will need a payment card. Phone 282557 for more advice. Pay at a Payzone location if you have a Post Office Payment Card. Pay by post. We need your service charge account number on the back. Do NOT send cash through the post.
