Colchester Borough Homes has an Equality and Diversity Strategy and Action Plan. You can download it here. This is a commitment made by Colchester Borough Homes to deliver equality and diversity intiatives from 2007 to 2010. It is also about ensuring fair access to services a core value within the organisation.
Key to developing the strategy was Colchester Borough Homes having an understanding of who our customers are. During 2005/6 Colchester Borough Homes conducted a data collection project, the information collected has resulted in us being able to produce a profile of our tenants and their circumstances. This profile is helping us understand our customer and will allow us to develop services that address the needs of our customers.
During 2006 we undertook an in depth survey of our ethnic minority tenants to enage, identify any unmet needs and to ask them about our services. This can be downloaded here.
